don't be in such a rush!

Throughout the past year or so, I've watched a good friend go through some serious stress with his wife. They have two kids, who are both doing just fine, but he and his wife are seperated. Why? He's done nothing wrong, his wife is just getting super stressed.

It seems like everything he does is wrong. For example, even though someone has kids, they have a life too. Either way, he gets in trouble if he takes some time to himself. He's told his wife she can do the same thing, but she chooses to chew him out cause she lacks friends for some reason. So, if she lets her know where he's going to be, he'll get in trouble for being "selfish" and if he doesn't, he gets in trouble for being reckless. He also even tries to give whatever money he can spare to his kids. He doesn't have a high paying job right now, but he's trying, but she complains. You know, I've heard of some deadbeat dads not even being there for their kids AT ALL and giving ZERO. I wonder how she would like that?

I could go on and on into this big story, but I'll just say it's a total mess for him and his heart breaks for his kids everyday and even for his wife. He wonders where he went wrong and I've never seen him so angry or depressed in his life and I've known him since kindergarden. He's in a bad way and I try to cheer him up and tell him to stay positive cause he has so many people that have his back and that know the truth. Sure he's made mistakes, but doesn't every parent?

Anyways, what I'm saying to everyone is that do not rush in to having a family until you are ready. If you have a child on the way, get saving, cause you're gonna be broke for eighteen years at least. Also, make sure your debts are paid so you are at $0.00 owing. Above all, make sure you know FOR SURE that the person you're with is THE ONE before you even think of starting a family. If you've played the make up break up game before several times, that's not usually a good sign. I'm not a big expert on relationships or anything, but if something doesn't click, it's not gonna work. It's just common sense.

Whatever, just wanted to vent. If you know someone that's struggling, take 'em to lunch with you or hang out with them or help watch their kids or just plain be a good friend. It'll mean the world to them.
